The Holkham Experience
It’s that most wonderful time of the year…to be walking along the beautiful Holkham beach on a crisp winter’s day wearing our ‘Holkham’ sock. Whatever your look, we have an amazing choice of colours in this very comfortable, yet durable sock. You will be sure to find your perfect match!
Norfolk’s finest beach is the perfect place to visit – whatever the season and it is no surprise it was the inspiration for our extensive palette of colours.
During winter, a stroll through the hauntingly beautiful pine woods to Wells-next-the Sea is the perfect antidote to those winter blues and influenced our choice of ‘earthy’ and ‘nature-inspired’ colours; from the autumnal colours like ‘terracotta’ to the greens and different shades of blues, we are sure you will find the perfect in your walking boots.
Blow away the cobwebs with a bracing return walk along the wide, open sandy beach, passing the amazing collection of multi-coloured beach huts -which provided us with more inspiration with vibrant pinks and purples, nor forgetting our stylish marl colours in Jade and Violet, you may prefer a bolder colour to stand out from the crowd.
Renowned for being location where the Royal Household Cavalry exercise, our Brigade Red would be perfect choice to wear when watching these magnificent horses and their very skilled riders execute some exciting and dangerous manoeuvres.
Or you may prefer to walk around the grounds of the very grand Palladian house - Holkham Hall, the family home of the Earls of Leicester. With over 3000 acres to explore, the many paths of designated walks are perfect for stretching those legs and looking at the vast plethora of wildlife that can be found here.
With its 10 mile circular pathway -our Trinity sock is the go-to trainer sock for jogging, cycling or walking. This ankle length sock has a cushioned sole with reinforced heel and toe, ensuring maximum comfort at all times. The natural fibres ‘wick’ away moisture so your feet do not sweat, chafe so remain blister free.
Holkham Hall was originally commissioned by the first Earl of Leicester, Thomas Coke, who was a member of Parliament for Norfolk but sadly died before its completion. It remained as a family seat and Thomas William Coke the 1st Earl of Leicester of Holkham, later inherited the Holkham estates. Also an MP, he was renowned for being an agricultural reformer, holding shearing’s (meetings where agricultural concerns were discussed amongst fellow farmers) and notably using and endorsing the rotation of crops to prevent exhaustion of the soil.
And there is no better a way to complete your day out at Holkham than by visiting one of the many local hostelries to sit and have a mulled wine whilst toasting your ‘Holkham’ clad feet by a roaring fire. The Victoria, located at the end of the Holkham Beach car park, or perhaps The Hoste Arms at Burnham Market are the perfect venues in which to end your day.
