Some people collect stamps. Nick Wallace collects socks.
As a lifelong 'sockophile', Nick searched high and low for the perfect pair that promised the ideal blend of snugness, softness, and durability. When he couldn't find what he was looking for, he did what any rational sock enthusiast would do. He started his own sock company!
Nick runs the Cambridge Sock Company from his beautiful Cambridgeshire farm. When he's not tending to his Australian Lowline cattle, Angora goats, or colony of bees, Nick is sourcing the finest natural fibres from farmers who share his passion, no matter where they are.
Nick makes sure only the best materials go into making our socks. He finds the finest alpaca wool from Peru, sourced from herds of alpacas living high on the Altiplano deep in the Andes. In South Africa, Nick selects only the best angora fleece from goats that thrive in the Karoo.
But he doesn't stop there! Nick acquires the softest merino wool crafted by Portuguese artisans in the heart of the Serra da Estrela mountains, and the Alentejo region.
Each pair is then knitted by expert British craftsmen to create socks that are as high-quality as they are comfortable. In fact, we have a seven-step process from fleece to foot.
