How do I wash my socks?
Alpaca and cashmere socks should be gently hand washed in cool water. Mohair socks can go in the machine on a wool or delicate cycle (30°C or below). Whichever fibre you're washing, avoid fabric conditioner and bleach, and never tumble dry — always dry your socks flat to protect the natural fibres and keep their shape.
Will my socks shrink?
Not if you follow the washing instructions above. Natural fibres like alpaca, mohair and merino can shrink or felt if washed too hot or put in the tumble dryer, so sticking to a cool wash and drying flat will keep your socks the right size, wash after wash.
What does "PA" mean on the label?
PA stands for polyamide, a strong synthetic fibre we blend with natural fibres like alpaca, mohair and merino wool. It adds elasticity and durability, helping the sock keep its shape and hold up around your leg, without taking away from the softness and warmth of the natural fibre.
Why don't my socks smell, even after a long day?
Natural fibres like alpaca and mohair have a smooth fibre structure, unlike sheep's wool, which leaves very little surface for odour-causing bacteria to take hold. That means your feet stay fresher for longer, even after a full day on your feet.
What size sock should I order?
Sizing is based on UK shoe size: Small fits UK 4–7, Medium fits UK 8–10, and Large fits UK 11–13 (sizing varies slightly for our Cashmere and Merino ranges). See our full Sock Size Guide for every fibre, plus Euro and US shoe size conversions.
How much is delivery, and how long does it take?
We aim to despatch all orders within two days of receipt. Standard UK delivery is £4.50 with Royal Mail Tracked 48, or £5.80 with Royal Mail Tracked 24. For rates outside the UK, please contact us at cambsocks@gmail.com.
Can I return or exchange my socks?
Yes — if you're not fully happy with a full-price item, just email us within 14 days of receiving your order at cambsocks@gmail.com. Items must be unworn, in their original condition, with all packaging and labels intact, and sent back to us via tracked delivery. Please note original and return postage costs aren't refundable, and sale or end-of-collection items are final sale unless faulty.
