Is Alpaca wool the same as Mohair wool?

No, alpaca and mohair wools come from different animals. Alpaca wool is sourced from alpacas, while mohair is from the Angora goat. Both are soft and luxurious, but alpaca tends to be slightly warmer and silkier, whereas mohair is known for its durability and sheen.

Are Alpaca socks durable?

Yes! Despite their soft feel, alpaca socks are surprisingly strong. Their natural fibres are hard-wearing and, with the right care, alpaca socks can outlast many standard wool or cotton socks.

Will Alpaca socks keep my feet dry?

They will. Alpaca wool is naturally moisture-wicking, which means it draws sweat away from your skin to keep your feet dry, fresh and comfortable throughout the day.

Are Alpaca socks too hot for summer?

Not at all. Thanks to the hollow structure of alpaca fibres, these socks are highly breathable. They regulate temperature brilliantly, keeping your feet cool in summer and warm in winter.

Are Alpaca socks flame-resistant?

Yes, alpaca wool has naturally flame-resistant properties. While not entirely fireproof, it’s much safer than synthetic materials and won’t easily catch or melt, making it a great choice for cosy evenings by the fire.

I'm between sizes – should I go up or down?

We recommend going up a size if you're between sizes. A little extra room ensures a more comfortable fit and helps preserve the elasticity of the socks over time.
