If you're between sizes, we'd recommend sizing up for a more relaxed fit.

Cold or cool machine wash, wool cycle, inside out to reduce piling.
Wool-safe detergent, no bleach.
Lay flat to dry; avoid the tumble dryer where you can.
Give them a shake and an airing between wears – proper alpaca doesn't need washing after every walk.

Where are these socks made?
Crafted in Portugal, the United Kingdom's longest-serving military ally. The Anglo-Portuguese Alliance dates back to the Treaty of Windsor in 1386, and Portuguese mills are renowned for fine hosiery knitting.

What's the sock made from?
74% alpaca, 23% nylon and 3% spandex – built for durability and shape retention over years of hard wear.

Are these warm enough for winter hiking and wellies?
Yes – the shin-length cut and alpaca's naturally insulating, hollow-core fibres are built for cold, muddy conditions and long days in tall boots.

Will they slip down inside a tall boot?
No – the boot sock is designed with a snug, supportive fit that stays in place through long miles in walking or work boots.

Do they need washing after every wear?
Not necessarily – alpaca is naturally odour-resistant, so a shake and an airing between wears is often enough.
